Surgery Times May Change
Please note that the scheduled surgery time is our best estimate. Your child’s surgery could be moved earlier or later on the schedule for different reasons. Thank you for being flexible and patient.
Food and Drink Restrictions
Food or drink | Minimum requirements |

Milk, yogurt, juices, pediatric or infant formula | 6 hours before surgery |
Breast milk | 4 hours before surgery |
Clear liquids like water, gatorade, clear soda, apple juice | 2 hours before surgery |
The Day of Surgery
Before Operation
Mr Sinha and the Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist will see you before the operation. They explain the operative procedure, benefits & possible risks of the operation. They will take informed consent, keeping the BEST interest of the patient as priority.
After Surgery
Parents will be able to see their child about 10–15 minutes after their child has arrived in the post-operative area. Mr C K Sinha will meet you shortly to discuss operative findings and post-operative management.
Going Home
When your child is ready to go home, we will give you supplies and instructions for your child’s care at home. A follow-up appointment will need to be arranged with Mr C K Sinha’s PA on 07712 127 636.
